Appitra started from a simple observation: the small things people want from their phones at home, a game for ten minutes, a recipe to cook along with, a remote that is never lost, a photo on the big screen, are usually served by apps nobody would trust with a card number. We decided to build those things properly, under one name, with one support desk and one clear billing policy.

Each product is free to use with ads. Premium, which removes the ads, is a separate subscription per product, so you only pay for the ones you want ad-free, and every one follows the same rules: the price is shown before you pay, the plan renews until you cancel, and cancelling takes one email.

How a product gets made

  1. Design

Each product starts with one plain question: what should this do on an ordinary evening at home? We sketch the flow on paper, cut anything that would need a manual, and only then open the code editor.

  2. Build

Our own engineers write the code. Every change is reviewed by a second engineer before it merges, and we keep each codebase small on purpose: fewer dependencies, fewer surprises.

  3. Test and release

Automated tests run on every change. Before a release reaches you it gets a manual pass on real phones, tablets and TVs, in the rooms where the product is actually used.

  4. Support and maintain

A subscription is a promise to keep the product working. We answer support mail ourselves, fix reported problems in the next release, and keep every product current with new phones, browsers and TVs.

Design rules we keep.

The same handful of rules shape every screen we ship, whether it is a game menu or a cancellation email.

  1. Say what it costs before it costs anything

Every product works free of charge with ads. The Premium plan, its price and its billing period appear on the page where you subscribe, before any payment is taken, and again on every receipt.

  2. Cancelling is as easy as subscribing

One email from the address you signed up with is enough. No retention scripts, no hidden menus, no phone calls.

  3. Big keys, few screens

Our products are used across the room, in the kitchen, or by children and grandparents. Controls are large, labels are plain, and the important action is always the obvious one.

  4. Nothing ships untested on a real device

Emulators are fine for development. Releases are checked on the phones, tablets and TVs our customers actually own.
